29th Fête des Alpages
Traditional festival in the alpine meadows of Le Plachaux. Entertainment: alpine horns, fanfare, sheep/cattle dog display, craft demonstrations, local crafts sale, children’s workshops, local snacks, bar/refreshments…

The trio (singer/guitar, bass and accordion) offers a range of songs and traditional music.
AT LES PLACHAUX

Rope work, wood turning, wooden objects, felt work, jewellery, lace, china ware, children’s books, digestifs, charcuterie, cheeses...
> Mini-farm: cows, sheep, goats – with Val d’Arly’s local farmers
> Demonstration of summer activities from our musher Benjamin Grosdaillon
> Fishing organised by the Ski Club

From 10.30 am to 1.30 pm :
> Wood sculpting with Aferdita Marot
Originally from Monté Negro, Aferdita MAROT has been sculpting wood professionally since 2001.
Passionate about nature, she sculpts both mountain wildlife and plant life. You can win one of her sculptures in the raffle!
10.45 am : sheep/cattle dog display
11.00 am : find out how tomme de Savoie cheese is made and see the different types of sheep and goats
Eric, from the Chalet Blanc alpine farm, will explain his day’s work making Tomme de Savoie. Thomas and Loïc BOUCHEX, two young farmers, will introduce you to their different types of sheep and goats.
From 12 midday : Alpine meal, with entertainment from the festive Trio “Les Tontons”
Come and enjoy a traditional mountain meal with us, in this lovely open air setting.
On the menu : Tartiflette, green salad and blueberry tart

12.30 pm : Dancing with the folk group from Conflans
The folk group from Conflans and Albertville is keen to revive the old dances and songs which used to keep us entertained during the difficult hours spent working in the fields. A mix of polkas, rigaudons, monfarines… Wearing colourful costumes decorated with lace, this friendly folk group loves sharing its passion for music and dance from olden days Savoie.

> Wood sculpting workshops with Aferdita Marot from 2 pm onwards
Throughout the afternoon, you will learn all about the local crafts and enjoy entertainment, displays, wood sculpting etc and applaud the amazing work of the shepherds and their sheep dogs.
1.30 pm : sheep/cattle dog display, followed by the festive trio “Les Tontons”
From 2 pm : coffee from the olden days in the company of “La Giettaz et son Patrimoine”
Recall the delicious smell of coffee from our grandparents’ kitchens and come along for a taste.
2 pm to 5 pm : Wood sculpture workshop with Aferdita MAROT
Aferdita Marot is passionate about showing off her talents as a wood sculptor and sharing her skills with children during this hands-on workshop: it’s possible that brand new wood workers will get a taste for the craft here…

2 pm : demonstration on how to make reblochon cheese and introduction to the different types of cows.
Come and watch Eric in his daily work at the Chalet Blanc alpine farm. After milking, he has to make cheese using the warm milk. This is what gives the cheese its strong flavour and creamy texture!
Thomas and Loïc BOUCHEX, two young farmers, will give a demonstration of the two main types of mountain cow.
