Elevation : 1064m
73590 La Giettaz
The Col de la Colombière is made for strong riders. The Tour de France climbs it regularly. Despite the setting, the chalet perched high up doesn't seem far away, but still... you'll need a few pedal strokes, and above all you won't be able to give up in the final stretch.
* Route details :
Departure from La Giettaz - Flumet - Megève - Ormaret - Combloux - Cluses - Le reposoir - Col de La Colombière - Grand Bornand - St Jean de Sixt - La Clusaz - Col des Aravis - La Giettaz: 93km/2180m+.

* Tricky sections:
The one and only tricky section will be the Col de la Colombière.
From Scionzier, you can warm up over 2 km. From Blanzy, the hostilities begin with 1.1 km at 5%, then 2 km at 8% and finally 1 km at 6.5%. You'll need to make the most of a generous flat area of between 2 and 3% for 3 km as far as Le Reposoir, because the second part of this climb will be no picnic: 7.3 km at an average gradient of 8.5%!
It's the last 3km that will seem interminable, a terrible finish with 2km at 9.5% and finally the last 800 metres at 10.5% to reach the Col de la Colombière.
