Setting off from Arêches and Les Saisies, then through the Val d’Arly towards Geneva: a city nestled between lake and mountains. After a tour along the lake and its ‘Star de la Rade’, Geneva’s water jet with its plume reaching 140 metres, you’ll enjoy a short break on the Place des Nations, in front of the monumental ‘Broken Chair’. You will then head towards the old town, dominated by St Peter’s Cathedral, a key site of the Reformation. Lose yourself in the narrow streets around it. Each one conceals one of the many treasures of Geneva’s history. An entire street is dedicated to luxury brands and the big names in fashion.
Lunch at your leisure (not included), then on to Yvoire. This medieval town, dating from the early 14th century, is a flower-filled village situated on the French shore of Lake Geneva and nicknamed the ‘Pearl of the Lake’; it is listed among the Most Beautiful Villages of France. With 700 years of history, its ramparts, fortified gates and imposing 14th-century castle bear witness to its past. You can stroll through the heart of the fortified town, discover charming shops and the charm of its narrow streets leading down to Lake Geneva, surrounded by ancient stone buildings that invite you to immerse yourself in the history of Savoy. Yvoire is a magical place that combines authenticity and history. Time stands still here…
