Created by the artist SARO in 2024, this mosaic fresco blends pop culture, urban art, and classical references. Each vignette depicts an enigmatic face, somewhere between futurism and tradition.
Created in 2024 in the heart of Val d'Arly, this monumental fresco by SARO is a continuation of the artist's unique graphic universe: a subtle blend of pop culture, historical references, contemporary icons, and urban aesthetics.
Composed of hundreds of vignettes, this mosaic forms a striking portrait—a female figure adorned with jewelry and reflective glasses, both futuristic and tribal. Each vignette is a miniature work, borrowed from a variety of imagery: comics, classical art, consumer symbols, graffiti, cartoons, and even nods to internet culture.
The effect of the fresco lies in its dual interpretation: from a distance, the overall image reveals itself as a mysterious, almost divine icon. Up close, it is an explosion of details that challenges, amuses, and questions. The viewer is invited to immerse himself in this visual map where each image tells a story, evokes a memory, or provokes reflection.
Through this work, SARO questions our relationship to image and identity, in a world saturated with symbols and information. The Val d'Arly becomes the scene of an unexpected dialogue between mountain culture and globalized urban art, where hypermodernity meets local tradition.
