Notre Dame de Bellecombe church

During its reconstruction, the church of Notre-Dame-de-Bellecombe retained its original appearance whilst increasing in size. Indeed, it presents an eclectic façade featuring a diverse range of architectural styles. Inside, the building is divided by granite pillars, wide beams painted in light colours and, at the end, there is a wide, light-filled chancel. Part of the furniture from the old church has been retained : a cabinet containing the holy oils, baptismal font, wooden statues etc. The windows and, above all, the stations of the cross add to the multi-coloured interior. The latter feature is quite unique : installed at the end of the 1950s, it was created by M. Cart, from the Annecy-based workshop Le Cyclope, on ceramic tiles painted in a more contemporary style. Also note the famous bulb-shaped bell tower which boasts a set of ten bells.
