Description
Making music with squash is the unique experience that the La Curieuse collective invites you to enjoy. Children aged 6 months to 6 years can play along with the musicians, and adults are welcome to have a go too.
Two musicians, steeped in rhythm and sound, welcome you to this vast collection of instruments. You are free to come in and try out, touch and experiment with the various sound modules within your reach. The sounds take shape as your movements become more precise. Here, children play alongside the musicians, and adults are welcome to have a go too. The sound modules are made from calabash, that enormous gourd cultivated for a variety of everyday uses. Whether as a salad bowl, a container, a n’goni or a decorative object, its uses are manifold, and this was the case long before the advent of plastic.
Here, young and old alike are free to create in a space of freedom.
The public wanders through the instruments and becomes a sound-maker in their own right. They will leave delighted and enriched by the sounds of nature.
